Tubectomy is a surgical sterilisation procedure for females. In this procedure, a "small part of the fallopian tube is removed or tied up" through a small incision in the abdomen or through the vagina. This blocks gamete transport and prevents conception. In contrast, the removal or tying up of the vas deferens applies to Vasectomy in males.
