Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) are broadly divided into two groups. One group is involved in growth promoting activities and includes gibberellins, auxins, and cytokinins. The other group plays an important role in growth inhibiting activities such as dormancy and abscission; abscisic acid belongs to this group . Since Gibberellic acid is classified as a growth promoter, it is not an inhibitory substance governing dormancy.
