Heat is a form of energy. In physics, all forms of energy (kinetic, potential, heat, work) have the same dimensional formula.

1. Definition: Energy (or Work) is defined as the product of Force and Displacement ($W = F \cdot d$).
2. Dimensions of Force ($F$): From Newton's Second Law ($F = ma$), dimensions are $[M][LT^{-2}] = [MLT^{-2}]$ .
3. Dimensions of Displacement ($d$): $[L]$.
4. Dimensions of Heat Energy: $[E] = [F] \times [d] = [MLT^{-2}] \times [L] = [ML^2T^{-2}]$
